What’s the Buzz?

  1. I’m looking forward to Saturday’s ride!

  2. It’s going to be HOT HOT HOT again this Saturday for the Lookout ride. Already projected to be 70 at sunrise. If we – especially the High Intensity group – don’t leave the meeting area until 10:30, we’ll all be like Mad Men and Englishmen, out in the noonday sun. We really should be at the base of Lookout by 9:30, at the latest, to avoid heat exhaustion. That means leaving the meeting are at about 8am. Please, please, please, let’s do this. My core temp is rising just thinking about a late start.

  3. we could meet @ 8:00 and leave by 8:30. I need my beauty sleep on weekends. We need to make sure everyone knows about this time change though. I don’t want to leave anyone behind.

  4. That’s great – how do we get the word out? Just post it here? Also send a facebook note ? The website has not posted this weekend’s ride yet, so it could also be posted there.
Tim might have the phone #s .

  5. 8:00 meet would be very smart!!

  6. Hey Riders,

We would love to accommodate everyone’s request. However, after several discussions we have concluded that decisions such as changing the launch time is something we need to discuss at the post-ride social and get the majority attending to agree to such changes. Not everyone checks this post for updates and we would not want people to show up for a ride at 10am that unexpectedly launched at 8am.

We’ll work on this as a team, but want to respect everyone’s input.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

  7. Well, Saturday is predicted to be one of the hottest yet. Channel 7 and 9 just predicted the temp to reach between 101 – 103.
Have fun guys. I’ll get out there at 8. Maybe we’ll all get lucky, and the temp prediction is wrong. Remember to drink lots of cold water. Be safe.
I had fun last week. I’ll miss you all.

  8. Yes, I would prefer leaving at (the latest) 8:00 am. If the ride leaves at 10:00, I think I’ll ride on my own even earlier… and trust me… I need my beauty sleep too.

    said Mel Q at 2:07 pm - 07/16/10
  9. I am probably not going to make it tomorrow, but I agree with the others that an earlier ride for next week would be best with the heat so there’s my vote!

  13. I vote for 8 am
