06/06/09 Bicycle Handling Skills Clinic

Bicycle Handling Skills Clinic members learn how to:

  • Begin pedaling quickly — without hesitation
  • Stop smoothly and precisely — without fear of falling
  • Prepare for a quick re-start — ready to go when it’s your turn at a stop sign or traffic signal
  • Turn confidently without wobbling — both while pedaling and coasting
  • Scan behind to check for a gap in traffic, without veering
  • Steer confidently with one hand — to safely give a hand signal or use a water bottle
  • Scan, signal, and move to a new line of travel — essential for changing lanes or getting in line with other drivers
  • Shift gears smoothly and understand when to shift — to make riding up or down hills easier

Join us for this skills clinic, then we’ll add a 1-3 hour ride afterward for ALL abilities and fitness levels.

What’s the Buzz?

  1. Um, yeah this is probably a good idea for me, I’ll be there. Any wheelies or… maybe going off jumps with uzis? You know, like in the movies.
